Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Leh, take the NH 1D highway towards Kargil. The distance is approximately 220 km and will take around 5-6 hours. Once you reach Kargil, follow the signs to Khurba Thang. The Kargil City View Point is situated in Khurba Thang, which is about 5 km from the city center. You will need to navigate through local streets, so using a GPS or asking locals for directions can be helpful.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  You can take a bus from Leh to Kargil. The buses are operated by the Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) and leave from Leh's main bus station. The journey takes about 6-7 hours. Once in Kargil, you will need to hire a taxi or take a local bus towards Khurba Thang to reach the Kargil City View Point, which is 5 km away from the town center. Expect to pay around INR 300-500 for the taxi ride.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Leh to Kargil directly. This can be arranged through local taxi services. The cost can range from INR 4000 to INR 6000 depending on the type of vehicle and negotiation. Upon reaching Kargil, you can continue to Khurba Thang in the same taxi or hire another local taxi for about INR 300 to reach Kargil City View Point.

• Local Transport (Auto-Rickshaw)

  Once you arrive in Kargil, auto-rickshaws are a convenient option for getting to the Kargil City View Point. They are available at various points in Kargil and can take you directly to Khurba Thang. The fare is approximately INR 100-150. Ensure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
