Getting There

• Walking

  Start your journey from Alamdar Chowk in Skardu. Begin by heading northwest on the main road. Walk for approximately 15 minutes until you reach the Skardu River. Continue walking along the riverbank, enjoying the beautiful views. After about 30 minutes of walking, look for a sign indicating the trail to Burji la Lake. Take this trail, which will lead you through scenic valleys and past local villages. Follow the path for about 3 to 4 hours, depending on your pace, and you will arrive at Burji la Lake.

• Trekking

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider taking a guided trekking tour from Skardu to Burji la Lake. Many local tour companies offer guided treks that include transportation to the starting point of the trek. You can book a trek that typically lasts 2 days, which includes camping overnight. The trek will take you through stunning mountain landscapes, and your guide will provide all the necessary information and support along the way.

  For a more traditional experience, you can hire a horse or mule from local stables in Skardu that offer transport to Burji la Lake.
