Getting There

Car
If you're traveling by car within Deosai National Park, start from the entrance at Skardu. Drive towards Sheosar Lake, following the well-marked road. After reaching Sheosar Lake, continue along the main route for approximately 18 km. Look for a signpost indicating the turn-off to Khantabsa Valley. The road may be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Follow the dirt track for about 5 km until you reach Khantabsa Valley.

Public Transportation
For those relying on public transport, take a jeep from Skardu to Sheosar Lake, which is a common route. The jeep ride costs around PKR 2000-3000 per person and takes about 2-3 hours. Once you reach Sheosar Lake, you will need to arrange a local jeep or hire a guide for the last leg of the journey to Khantabsa Valley. The cost for this local jeep ride is approximately PKR 1500-2000, and it will take another 30-45 minutes on rough terrain to reach the valley.

If you're adventurous and physically fit, you can hike to Khantabsa Valley from Sheosar Lake. This trek is about 7 km and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Ensure you have enough water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. It's advisable to hire a local guide, which may cost around PKR 1500-2500 for a full day, to help navigate the trails.
