Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the main square of Portobelo, head southeast towards Calle 1. Walk down Calle 1 for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Avenida de los Mártires. Turn left onto Avenida de los Mártires and continue walking for another 5 minutes. You will see the entrance to Fuerte San Jerónimo on your right, marked by a sign. The fort is located near the water, so you will have a nice view as you approach.

    From the Portobelo Church (Iglesia de San Felipe), exit the church and head northeast on Calle 1. Continue straight for about 15 minutes, passing by local shops and homes. Eventually, you will reach Calle 2, where you will turn left. Keep walking until you reach Avenida de los Mártires, then turn right. Fuerte San Jerónimo will be on your right side after a short walk.

    If you are near the waterfront area, start at the beachfront and walk towards the main road, Avenida de los Mártires. Turn left and walk along the road for about 10 minutes. Fuerte San Jerónimo will be located on your left, just before you reach the end of the road.
