Car
From Main Line, get onto I-476 S toward Philadelphia. Continue on I-476 S for approximately 15 miles. Merge onto I-76 E toward Camden. Stay on I-76 E for about 5 miles, then take exit 40B for I-676 N toward Central Philadelphia. After about 1.5 miles, take exit 1 for 8th St toward Convention Center. Merge onto 8th St and continue straight for several blocks. Turn left onto Arch St, and you will find the African American Museum at 701 Arch St on your left. Note that parking may be available nearby but may incur additional costs, typically ranging from $10 to $20 depending on the lot.

From Main Line, take the Regional Rail (such as the Paoli/Thorndale Line) from any station to Philadelphia’s 69th Street Terminal. Once you arrive at 69th Street Terminal, transfer to the Market-Frankford Line (Blue Line) and head towards Frankford. Get off at 8th St and Market St station. From there, walk east on Market St until you reach 8th St. Turn left on 8th St, and then turn left again onto Arch St. The African American Museum is located at 701 Arch St. Be sure to check the fare for the Regional Rail and transit, which may cost around $5-$10 one way.
