Public Transportation
Begin your journey at the Point State Park, where you can catch the 'T' light rail system. Board the 'T' towards the South Hills Junction. After a few stops, disembark at the 'Station Square' stop. From Station Square, exit the station and head towards the Smithfield Street Bridge. Cross the bridge, and once you reach the other side, continue straight until you reach the intersection with West Carson Street. At this point, you will want to catch a bus. Look for the 21 or 28 bus routes, which will take you toward the West End area. Get off at the stop closest to Marlow Street, which is your destination. From there, it's a short walk up Marlow Street to West End Overlook Park.
Walking
If you are starting from a central location like the Strip District, you can walk to West End Overlook Park. Head south on 21st Street until you reach the Smithfield Street Bridge. Cross the bridge, enjoying the views of the Ohio River. After crossing, continue straight until you hit West Carson Street. From there, you can either catch a bus as previously described, or continue walking along West Carson until you reach the West End area where Marlow Street is located. It is about a 2-mile walk, so wear comfortable shoes!
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing stations around Pittsburgh. Start at Point State Park and head towards the South Side Riverfront Park. Follow the riverfront trail west until you reach the Smithfield Street Bridge. Cross the bridge and stay on the trail, which will eventually lead you to West Carson Street. From there, you can ride up Marlow Street to reach West End Overlook Park. The entire route is scenic and safe for cyclists.
