Car
If you're traveling by car within Presque Isle State Park, start from the main entrance located at the intersection of Presque Isle State Park Road and Peninsula Drive. Drive along Peninsula Drive, following the signs for the park attractions. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the beach areas. At this point, you can park your vehicle in one of the designated parking areas near the beach. Once parked, walk towards the Fort Presque Isle area, which is a short distance away from the beach parking lots. Look for informational signs that will guide you to the historic Blockhouse.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike at one of the rental stations within Presque Isle State Park. Once you have your bike, follow the paved bike paths that circle around the park. Head towards the northwestern part of the peninsula, where Fort Presque Isle is located. The bike paths are well-marked, and you'll enjoy scenic views along the way. Make sure to lock your bike at the designated bike racks near the Blockhouse.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Fort Presque Isle, you can walk to the Blockhouse from nearby beach areas. Head towards the north end of the park, following the paths that lead through the natural trails. The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes depending on your starting point. Look for signs indicating the direction to Fort Presque Isle (Blockhouse), which will guide you through the scenic landscape of the park.
Public Transportation
While public transportation options to Presque Isle State Park may be limited, you can take a bus to the nearest stop at the park entrance. From there, you will need to either walk or bike to Fort Presque Isle (Blockhouse). The park entrance is about 1.5 miles from the Blockhouse. If you are using public transit, be sure to check the local bus schedule for the most current routes and times, as service may vary.
