Car
If you are driving from Iquitos, take the PE-5N highway heading south for about 70 kilometers until you reach the town of Nauta. From Nauta, continue on the PE-5N for another 40 kilometers. Upon arriving at the town of Lagunas, follow signs directing you to Calle PV. # 12. The entrance to Reserva Nacional Pacaya Samiria is near the center of Lagunas. Ensure you have a GPS or a reliable map app to assist you in navigating the final stretch.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Iquitos, head to the main bus terminal and take a bus headed to Nauta. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Nauta, find a bus or shared taxi that goes towards Lagunas. The ride from Nauta to Lagunas takes about 1 hour. Upon arriving in Lagunas, walk or take a motorcycle taxi to Calle PV. # 12, where the entrance to Reserva Nacional Pacaya Samiria is located. Be prepared to pay around 10-20 soles ($3-$6) for the motorcycle taxi.
Boat
Another option from Iquitos is to travel by boat. You can take a riverboat from Iquitos to Nauta, which takes about 3-4 hours. Once in Nauta, follow the instructions from the public transportation section above to reach Lagunas. The boat ride may cost between 30-50 soles ($8-$15) depending on the service you choose.
