Car
If you're driving from Huaraz, head north on Avenida Luzuriaga towards Avenida 28 de Julio. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Pan-American Highway (Route 1N). Turn left onto the Pan-American Highway and continue for about 20 kilometers until you see the sign for Carhuaz. Take the exit towards Carhuaz and follow the road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the town. In Carhuaz, look for signs directing you to Churup Lake. Follow the signs and continue on the road for another 10 kilometers. You will reach the parking area for Churup Lake, where you'll need to park your car and start your hike to the lake.
Public Transportation
To reach Churup Lake by public transport, start by heading to the Huaraz bus terminal. Look for buses heading to Carhuaz; they run frequently throughout the day. The bus ride should take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Carhuaz, you will need to take a taxi or a local minibus that goes directly to the starting point for the hike to Churup Lake. Confirm with the driver that they are going to Churup Lake. After about 30 minutes, you will be dropped off at the trailhead where you can begin your hike to the lake.
