Getting There

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the main square in Vilcabamba. Head southwest on the main road (Route PE-3N) for approximately 6 kilometers. You will pass through the small town of Cascan, continue for another 20 kilometers until you reach the junction for Auquimarca. Turn left onto the road towards Auquimarca and follow it for about 10 kilometers. Look for signs indicating San Antonio Pass, which is located at J4V2+995, Auquimarca 15195. There is a parking area available near the pass.
Public Transportation

To reach San Antonio Pass by public transportation, first take a local bus from Vilcabamba to the nearest larger town, which is Loja. The bus ride will cost you approximately 5-10 soles and takes about 1 hour. Once in Loja, transfer to a bus heading towards Auquimarca. This leg will cost around 7-15 soles and take an additional 30-45 minutes. Upon reaching Auquimarca, you can either walk (around 3 km) to San Antonio Pass following local directions or hire a taxi for around 20 soles to take you directly to the pass.
Hiking

If you are already in Vilcabamba Trek and prefer to hike, there are well-marked trails leading to San Antonio Pass. Start by taking the trail from the main square in Vilcabamba heading towards the hills. The hike is approximately 12 kilometers and will take around 4-6 hours, depending on your pace.
