Getting There

    From Cusco, drive towards the town of Abancay. Follow the signs along the main road (Route 3S) towards Abancay. After reaching Abancay, continue on Route 3S for approximately 100 km until you arrive at the town of Cachora. From Cachora, you will need to take the road towards the trailhead at Capuliyoc. The road is unpaved and can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Park your vehicle at Capuliyoc and begin your trek to Choquequirao.

    From Cusco, take a bus to Abancay. Buses leave regularly from the Terminal Terrestre (bus station) in Cusco. The journey takes around 4-5 hours and will cost approximately 30-40 soles. Once in Abancay, you can catch another bus to Cachora, which takes about an hour and costs around 10 soles. After reaching Cachora, you can hire a local guide or muleteer who can help you reach the trailhead at Capuliyoc. From Capuliyoc, you will begin your trek to Choquequirao.

    Starting from Capuliyoc, follow the designated path that leads you down into the Apurimac Valley.
