Walking
From the main square (Plaza de Armas) in Ayacucho, head northeast on Avenida 28 de Julio. Walk straight for about 1.2 km until you reach the junction with Avenida Independencia. Turn left onto Avenida Independencia and continue walking for another 1 km. You will pass several local shops and restaurants along the way. Keep an eye out for signposts indicating Wari Archaeological Complex. After reaching the intersection with Calle San Martin, turn right. Walk for approximately 500 meters, where you'll find local transport options like mototaxis that can take you directly to the site.
Mototaxi
From the Plaza de Armas in Ayacucho, look for a mototaxi stand nearby. Tell the driver you want to go to Complejo Arqueológico Wari. The fare is usually around 10-15 soles. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic. The mototaxi will drop you off at the entrance of the archaeological complex.
Public Bus
From the main square, walk to the nearest bus stop on Avenida 28 de Julio. Look for buses heading towards Huamanga or Wari. Make sure to confirm with the conductor that they are going to Complejo Arqueológico Wari. The bus ride takes about 45 minutes, and the fare is usually about 2-3 soles. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance to the entrance of the site.
