Car
From Arequipa, take the Pan-American Highway (Route 1) south towards Yura Viejo. After approximately 2 hours of driving, look for signs indicating Colca Canyon. Once you reach the town of Chivay, turn onto the road leading to the Colca Canyon. Continue driving for about 30 minutes until you reach the trailhead for the Capua waterfall hike. Park your car and prepare for a 1-2 hour hike down to the waterfall.
Public Transportation
Catch a bus from Arequipa to Chivay. Buses depart frequently from the main bus terminal in Arequipa and the journey takes about 3-4 hours. Once in Chivay, you can either hire a local taxi or join a guided tour that includes transportation to the Capua waterfall trailhead. The taxi ride should take approximately 30 minutes. If you choose to walk to the trailhead, prepare for a longer trek of about 1.5 hours, following the signs towards Capua waterfall.
