Getting there

Car

From Chivay, head south on the highway (Route 30A) towards the town of Coporaque. Continue driving for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the town of Coporaque. Once in Coporaque, follow the signs towards Viraco. You will drive through scenic landscapes and small villages. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive in Viraco. Look for the coordinates 9F86+883, which is the location of La Chunchana. Parking may be available nearby.

Public Transportation

From Chivay, take a colectivo (shared taxi) towards the town of Coporaque. The fare is around 5-10 soles. Once you arrive in Coporaque, you will need to wait for another colectivo heading to Viraco. The fare for this leg should be approximately 10 soles. After about 30 minutes of travel, you will reach Viraco. From there, you can ask locals for directions to La Chunchana, which is located at the coordinates 9F86+883.

Walking

If you find yourself in the town of Viraco, you can walk to La Chunchana. From the main square in Viraco, head towards the coordinates 9F86+883, which is approximately a 15-20 minute walk. Follow the main road out of the town, and ask locals if you need assistance with directions. The area is scenic and perfect for a leisurely walk.
