If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Chivay, which is the main gateway to Colca Canyon. Head south on the main road (Route 30A) towards the village of Cabanaconde. After approximately 35 kilometers, you will reach Cabanaconde. From Cabanaconde, take the road leading to the archaeological site of Uyo Uyo. This road is well-marked, and you can expect to drive for about 10 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs indicating 'Uyo Uyo' as you approach the site. The total driving time from Chivay to Uyo Uyo is around 1 hour, not including any stops or delays.

Public Transportation
To reach Uyo Uyo via public transportation, first take a collectivo (shared taxi) from Chivay to Cabanaconde. Collectivos leave regularly from the main plaza in Chivay and cost around 10-15 soles per person. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cabanaconde, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you to Uyo Uyo, which is about 10 kilometers away. The taxi fare should be around 20-25 soles. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand.

For adventurous travelers, Uyo Uyo can also be reached by hiking from Cabanaconde. This is a more challenging route and will take around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. From the center of Cabanaconde, follow the signs toward Uyo Uyo. The trail is scenic but be prepared with adequate hiking gear, water, and snacks. It's advisable to start early in the day to avoid the heat and ensure you have enough daylight for your return.
