Getting there

Car

If you are driving, start from Chivay, the main town in Colca Canyon. Take the road towards Cabanaconde. After about 30 minutes of driving, you will reach the town of Cabanaconde. Continue on the main road, following signs for 'Pisco Waqus.' As you drive, you'll pass beautiful landscapes and may spot some wildlife. Once you reach the approximate coordinates (3GQG+CQ9, 04605), which are -15.9114695 latitude and -72.4730106 longitude, look for parking areas nearby, as the attraction doesn't have dedicated parking. Please note that fuel stations are limited, so ensure your tank is full before heading out.

Public Transportation

To reach Pisco Waqus using public transportation, take a colectivo (shared taxi) from Chivay to Cabanaconde. The journey takes about 30 minutes and typically costs around 10-15 PEN. Once you arrive in Cabanaconde, you can either hire a local guide who knows the way to Pisco Waqus or ask locals for directions. The site is a short walk from the center of town. Be sure to carry some cash, as some local guides may not accept cards.

Hiking

For those adventurous enough, you can hike from Cabanaconde to Pisco Waqus. This hike will take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your pace and fitness level.
