Getting there

Car

If you are driving, start from Chivay, the main town in Colca Canyon. Head south on the main road (Route 30A) towards Cabanaconde. After approximately 22 kilometers, you will see a sign for the Sendero a la Laguna de Chachas on your right. Turn onto this road and continue for about 5 kilometers. The road will lead you directly to the trailhead where you can park your car.

To reach Sendero a la Laguna de Chachas by public transport, take a collectivo (shared taxi) from Chivay to Cabanaconde. The fare is usually around 10-20 soles per person.
