Be sure to fill up on fuel in Chivay, as there are limited gas stations on the way to Cotahuasi. Upon reaching Cotahuasi, you will find signs directing you to Cañón de Cotahuasi. The final approach to the canyon may require navigating local roads, so a map or GPS is advisable.

To reach Cañón de Cotahuasi from Colca Canyon using public transportation, first, take a colectivo (shared taxi) or bus from Chivay to Arequipa. From Arequipa, you will need to catch a bus to Cotahuasi. The bus ride from Arequipa to Cotahuasi is approximately 9 hours and costs around 30-50 soles.
