Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Cusco city center. Head northwest on Avenida El Sol towards Av. de la Cultura. Merge onto Av. de la Cultura and follow signs for the road to Ollantaytambo. This drive takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you reach Ollantaytambo, you can park your car at one of the designated parking areas and take a train to Aguas Calientes. The train ride takes about 2 hours. From Aguas Calientes, you can either take a bus or hike up to Machu Picchu. The bus ride is about 30 minutes and costs around $12 one way.
Public Transportation
To reach Sacred Rock using public transportation, take a bus from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. Buses leave frequently from the main bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre) and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Ollantaytambo, buy a ticket for the train to Aguas Calientes, which will take approximately 2 hours. After arriving in Aguas Calientes, you can opt for the bus or hike up to Machu Picchu. The bus costs about $12 for a one-way ticket and takes around 30 minutes. After reaching Machu Picchu, follow the signs to Sacred Rock, which is located within the archaeological park.
