Public Bus
From the main square (Plaza de Armas) in Cusco, head to the nearby bus terminal located on Av. 28 de Julio. Look for the buses heading towards Huacarpay or say 'Huacarpay' to the ticket seller. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you reach the Huacarpay area, disembark at the last stop. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the lake.

At the Plaza de Armas, walk to Av. Huaynapata, where you can find collectivos (shared taxis) heading to Huacarpay. Look for a collectivo with a sign indicating 'Huacarpay'. It should cost around 5-10 soles. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive, ask the driver to drop you near the lake.

If you prefer to walk after taking a bus or collectivo, from the bus stop in Huacarpay, make your way towards the lake by following the main path signs. The walk is approximately 15 minutes. You will pass by local shops and farms, providing a glimpse of the rural life in the area.
