Absolutely loved this tour and our guide José was fantastic! It was the perfect amount of time and information combined with free time to explore. The highlight for us was Miguelito, where we got to interact with and feed alpacas, llamas, and guanacos. Highly recommend!

Salkantay Premium Trek 5 Days: Glamping Adventure to Machu Picchu

Do the 5 day trek, you won’t regret it. I was really impressed with salkantay trekking company. The attention to detail and the level of care they gave each passenger, was impressive. They ran a really good system, catering towards each person’s hiking capabilities. The food was seriously one of the best parts. Each day included 3 full meals with multiple courses, and 2 tea times, while experiencing authentic Peruvian cuisine. The 5 day trek was the perfect balance. 3 day might be a little too rushed for those not used to the elevation. Luxury option was definitely worth it and it pays for itself if you want to do the extra activities. Our tour guide Porfirio, was 10/10. His passion for nature and history was exceptional. I’ve never met another tour guide that was as caring and knowledgeable as Porifiro. Everything about this trip blew away my expectations. The views, the employees, and the food. After seeing other companies, they weren’t as well ran as Salkantay Trekking. Word of advice though prepare for this trip, because the altitude and distance isn’t easy. There’s horses available for certain parts for cheap, but definitely start preparing.

Saltankay Trek

This is a great and very diverse trek with a lot of varying types of accommodation and environments. This made for a very interesting and more varied trek than I was expecting and definitely exceeded expectations. There were almost no other hikers at all making it like a private tour. Machu Picchu was a great way to cap it off as well. Max was our tour guide and I was paired with a very fun and active group that made the trip much more enjoyable. The logistics were handled extremely well. Would highly recommend this company and especially this trek
