Walking
From the main square (Plaza de Armas), head northwest towards Avenida El Sol. Walk along Avenida El Sol until you reach the intersection with Avenida Pardo. Continue straight onto Avenida Pardo until you reach the intersection with Avenida de la Cultura. Turn left onto Avenida de la Cultura and follow it until you see signs for Tambomachay. The walk takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Collectivo (Shared Taxi)
From the Plaza de Armas, walk to Avenida El Sol where you can find collectivo taxis heading towards the outskirts of the city. Look for a collectivo that has a destination sign indicating 'Tambomachay' or 'Qenqo'. The fare is usually around 3-5 soles. Get off at the junction for Tambomachay, which is about a 15-minute ride. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk uphill to the entrance of the site.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in the city. Start from Plaza de Armas, and head along Avenida El Sol, then follow Avenida de la Cultura. The route to Tambomachay is around 8 km and will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your biking speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and be cautious of traffic.
