Getting There

Public Bus
From the main bus terminal in Huaraz, take a bus heading towards Anta or Querococha. Buses leave frequently, so check the schedule and be ready for a short wait. The fare is inexpensive, typically around 5-10 PEN. After about 1.5 to 2 hours, you will arrive at a stop near Querococha lake. Make sure to ask the driver or the locals to let you know when you reach the Querococha stop.

Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can hike to Querococha lake from Huaraz. Start your journey by walking to the main square (Plaza de Armas) and then head towards the Calle 28 de Julio, which leads out of the city. Follow the signs towards the mountains, keeping in mind it’s a long trek of approximately 20 kilometers. It’s advisable to start early in the morning to avoid the heat and ensure you have enough daylight for the return trip. Bring plenty of water and snacks.

Shared Taxi
For a quicker option, you can take a shared taxi (also known as a 'colectivo'). These can be found at designated taxi stands in Huaraz, particularly near the Plaza de Armas. Look for taxis heading towards Querococha or Anta. The cost will be around 15-20 PEN per person, and the journey should take about 1 hour. Inform the driver of your destination when you get in.
