Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Cusco. Head southeast on Av. El Sol towards Av. Pardo. Take the ramp onto Av. La Cultura. Continue straight to stay on Av. La Cultura which will become the highway (Carretera 28B) towards Ollantaytambo. After approximately 1.5 hours, you will reach the town of Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo, take the road towards Chillca. Follow the signs for Patallacta; it is about a 30-minute drive from Ollantaytambo. The exact location of Patallacta is QH9G+J24, Chillca 08680. Make sure to have a GPS or map application handy to assist with navigation.
Public Transportation
To reach Patallacta using public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Cusco, and take a bus to Ollantaytambo. Buses leave frequently throughout the day and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Ollantaytambo, you can find a colectivo (shared taxi) that goes to Chillca. The colectivo ride will take around 30 minutes and costs approximately 10-15 soles. Make sure to inform the driver that you need to go to Patallacta, and they will drop you off at the closest point to the site. The exact coordinates for Patallacta are QH9G+J24, Chillca 08680.
Hiking
If you are already on the Inca Trail, you can hike to Patallacta as it is one of the first archaeological sites seen on the trail. From your campsite, follow the trail markers that lead towards the Patallacta ruins. Make sure to have proper hiking gear and sufficient water.
