From Machu Picchu, hike towards the Aguas Calientes town. Follow the path down from the archaeological site towards the town below. This hike takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Once you reach Aguas Calientes, head to the bus station and take a bus to the train station. The buses run frequently, so you won’t have to wait long. At the train station, purchase a ticket for a train that goes to Santa Teresa, which is about a two-hour journey.
