Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Puno. Head northwest on Av. La Torre towards Av. 2 de Mayo. Continue on Av. 2 de Mayo, then take the exit towards Juliaca. Merge onto the Panamericana Sur (Route 3S) and follow the signs for Sillustani. The drive takes approximately 30-40 minutes, covering around 34 kilometers. Upon approaching Sillustani, you will see signs directing you to the archaeological site.
Public Transportation - Bus
From the main bus terminal in Puno, look for buses heading to Juliaca. Buses frequently depart every 15-30 minutes. The journey to Juliaca typically takes about 1 hour. After arriving in Juliaca, you will need to find a local taxi or a shared colectivo (minibus) that goes to Sillustani. The taxi ride from Juliaca to Sillustani should take around 30 minutes and cost approximately 15-25 soles. If you choose a colectivo, it will be cheaper, costing about 5 soles, but may take longer as it will pick up other passengers along the way.
Tourist Shuttle
Another option is to book a tourist shuttle service that offers direct trips to Sillustani from Puno. Several tour operators provide this service, and prices can range from 50 to 100 soles per person. The shuttle typically includes a guide who will provide valuable insights during the journey.
