Stargazing at the Cusco Planetarium: A Celestial Journey

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the Sacred Valley, take the main road (Route 28B) towards Cusco. Continue on Route 28B for approximately 30 kilometers. As you approach Cusco, look for signs leading to Sacsayhuaman. You'll need to turn onto the road that leads to Fundo Llaullipata. The Cusco Planetarium is located at Km 2 on this road, on your right. There is parking available on-site.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach the Cusco Planetarium via public transport, first take a bus from Sacred Valley to Cusco. Buses depart frequently from towns like Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. Upon arriving in Cusco, get off at the main bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre). From there, you can catch a local taxi or a colectivo (shared taxi) to Sacsayhuaman. Inform the driver you are heading to Fundo Llaullipata. The journey should take about 15-20 minutes. Be aware that you may incur a small fare for the bus (around 10-15 soles) and additional costs for the taxi or colectivo (around 5-10 soles).

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from any location in the Sacred Valley directly to the Cusco Planetarium. Simply explain to the driver that your destination is Fundo Llaullipata, carretera a Sacsayhuaman Km 2. The trip will take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Taxi fares will vary, but expect to pay approximately 80-100 soles for the ride.
