Car
If you are driving from the center of Cusco, head northwest on Avenida del Sol towards Calle 7. Continue straight onto Avenida de la Cultura. Follow this road for about 3 kilometers until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto Avenida Tahuantinsuyo. After about 1 kilometer, turn left onto the road that leads to Saqsayhuamán. Follow the signs for Saqsayhuamán, and you will arrive at the entrance of the site. There is parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Saqsayhuamán using public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Cusco. Look for buses or colectivos (shared taxis) that are heading towards the Saqsayhuamán area. The journey will typically take about 15-20 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at Saqsayhuamán. Once you get off, it’s a short walk to the entrance of the archaeological site. Make sure to check the bus schedules for return trips.
Walking
If you are staying in central Cusco, you can walk to Saqsayhuamán. Start by heading north on Avenida del Sol and follow the main street as it becomes Calle Nueva Alta. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of the park. The walk is approximately 30-40 minutes, and you will enjoy beautiful views of the city and surrounding hills along the way.
