If you are driving, start your journey from Cusco. Head towards the town of Ollantaytambo, which is approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour drive. From Ollantaytambo, follow signs for the Salkantay Trail. You will pass through the town of Mollepata. Once you reach the trailhead, park your car and begin your trek on foot. Follow the signs that indicate the direction towards Intimachay. The hike to Intimachay typically takes about 3-4 hours.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Cusco, take a bus to Ollantaytambo. The trip will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Buses leave frequently from the terminal near the Plaza de Armas. Once you arrive in Ollantaytambo, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Salkantay Trailhead. The taxi ride should cost around 10-15 soles. After reaching the trailhead, start your hike towards Intimachay, which will take approximately 3-4 hours.
