If you are driving, start from Moyobamba city center. Take Av. José de la Riva Agüero heading southeast. Continue on this road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the junction where you will turn left onto the road leading to San Mateo. Follow this road for about 7 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Aguas Termales de San Mateo, which will direct you to the thermal baths. The entrance to the thermal baths is well marked.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Moyobamba. Look for a bus or colectivo (shared taxi) heading towards San Mateo. The fare is typically around 5-10 soles. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at Aguas Termales de San Mateo. Once you arrive, there will be signage directing you to the entrance of the thermal baths.

For those who enjoy walking and are already in the vicinity, you can hike from the main road leading to San Mateo. It is about a 2-kilometer walk from the main road to the thermal baths. Follow the scenic path and enjoy the lush surroundings. However, be aware of the steep inclines and take appropriate footwear.
