After approximately 45 minutes, turn onto the road leading to the Santa Cruz Trek trailhead. The last stretch is a gravel road that leads directly to the starting point of the trek. Make sure to have a map or GPS as the roads can be tricky. Parking is available at the trailhead.

    To reach Pukarahu using public transportation, start in Huaraz. Take a local bus from the Huaraz bus terminal to the town of Caraz. Buses run frequently and the trip takes about 1 hour.
