Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Zakopane, which is the nearest town to Giewont. From the center of Zakopane, follow the signs to the 'Giewont' trailhead, which is located at the end of ul. Oswalda Balzera. The drive should take about 10-15 minutes. There is a parking area at the trailhead (paid parking, approximately 20 PLN for a full day). From the parking, follow the clearly marked trail leading to Giewont.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Kraków to Zakopane. The bus station in Kraków is located at ul. Bosacka 18. Once you arrive in Zakopane, take a local bus (line 11 or 14) or a taxi to the Giewont trailhead, which will cost around 10-15 PLN. The local buses run frequently, and the journey from the center of Zakopane to the trailhead takes about 15 minutes.
Hiking
Once you reach the Giewont trailhead, you will find a well-marked hiking trail. The hike to the summit of Giewont is approximately 2-3 hours one way, depending on your pace. The trail is moderately challenging, so be prepared with good hiking shoes and water. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the Tatra Mountains. At the summit, you will find a large metal cross, which is a popular photo spot.
