Car

If you are driving, head towards the town of Zakopane, a popular starting point for exploring the Tatra Mountains. From Zakopane, take the road towards the Tatra National Park. Follow the signs to the 'Kuźnice' area, which serves as a primary access point to several trails. Once you reach Kuźnice, park your car in the designated parking area (note that there is a parking fee). From Kuźnice, you will begin your hike on the red trail (Szlak pieszy czerwony) that leads you directly to Zadni Mnich.

Public Transportation

If you prefer public transport, take a bus from Kraków to Zakopane (approximately 2-3 hours). Once in Zakopane, transfer to local bus lines that head to Kuźnice. You can catch buses at the main bus station in Zakopane. Make sure to have cash on hand for the bus fare. Upon reaching Kuźnice, you will need to pay for parking if you are using a taxi or a private shuttle service. From Kuźnice, start your hike on the red trail (Szlak pieszy czerwony) toward Zadni Mnich.

Hiking

After reaching Kuźnice, begin your hike on the marked red trail (Szlak pieszy czerwony). The trail will lead you through beautiful alpine scenery. The hike to Zadni Mnich is moderately challenging and takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and carry water and snacks.
