Getting There

• Bus

  From Coimbra, head to the Coimbra Bus Station (Terminal Rodoviário de Coimbra) located at Av. Fernão de Magalhães. You can take a local bus to Luso; check the schedules for bus lines that service this route. Once you arrive at Luso, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach the Monumento da Guerra do Bussaco. Head northeast on Rua da Igreja, then turn left onto N234-4. Continue walking straight until you see the monument on your right.

• Train and Bus

  Take a train from Coimbra-B railway station heading towards Luso. Make sure to check the train schedules in advance. Once you arrive at Luso train station, exit and look for local buses that can take you to the Monumento da Guerra do Bussaco. If no bus is available, it's a 2-kilometer walk. Head east on Rua da Estação, then turn right onto N234-4 and walk straight until the monument appears on your left.

• Taxi

  If public transport isn't convenient, consider taking a taxi from Coimbra directly to the Monumento da Guerra do Bussaco.   For the adventurous, consider walking from Coimbra to the monument. The distance is around 12 kilometers and will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours depending on your pace. Start from the center of Coimbra, head towards the N234 road, and follow it northeast. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes as the route might include some steep sections.
