If you're driving from the town of Peso da Régua, take the N222 road towards Porto. Continue on N222 for about 40 km until you reach the intersection with A20. Take the A20 towards Porto. After approximately 10 km, take exit 13 toward Foz do Douro. Follow signs for Foz do Douro. Once you reach Foz do Douro, look for street signs directing you to Forte de São João Baptista. The fort is located at the coordinates 41.1490101, -8.6744923. There is limited parking nearby, so be prepared to walk a short distance. Note that tolls may apply on A20, so check the route beforehand.
