Car
If you are driving, start on the A1 motorway heading south from Lisbon. Take the exit towards A10, following signs for Almeirim. Merge onto the A10 and continue until you reach the N3 exit towards Santarém. Follow the N3 until you reach the town of Almeirim, then take the N114 towards the village of Alqueidão. Follow the signs to Forte de Alqueidão, which is located approximately 7 km from Alqueidão village. There is free parking available near the site.

Public Transportation
To reach Forte de Alqueidão using public transportation, start by taking a train from Lisbon to Santarém. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Santarém train station, take a local bus towards Almeirim. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the Almeirim stop and transfer to another local bus heading to Alqueidão. The bus may take additional time depending on the schedule, so check the local bus timetable ahead of time. Once you arrive at the Alqueidão stop, it is approximately a 15-minute walk to the Forte de Alqueidão.

If you prefer more convenience, you can take a taxi or use a ride-sharing app from Santarém or Almeirim directly to Forte de Alqueidão.
