The Monastery of Alcobaça is located at Praça 25 de Abril, 2460-018 Alcobaça. There is parking available nearby, but it can get busy, so plan to arrive early if possible.

To get to Alcobaça by train, take a train to the Alcobaça station from Lisbon or another major city. Once you arrive at the Alcobaça station, it is about a 20-minute walk to the Monastery. Head northwest on Rua da Estação, then turn right onto Avenida 1º de Maio. Continue straight until you reach Praça 25 de Abril. The Monastery will be on your left. Be sure to check the train schedules ahead of time as they may vary.

If traveling by bus, look for intercity buses that connect to Alcobaça from Lisbon or other nearby towns. Once you arrive at the Alcobaça Bus Station, the Monastery is about a 10-minute walk away. Exit the bus station, turn left onto Rua de São Martinho, and continue until you reach Praça 25 de Abril. The Monastery will be prominently visible.
