If you are in the city center of Guimarães, start at the Guimarães Castle (Castelo de Guimarães). From the castle, head down Rua de São Francisco. Continue straight until you reach Praça de São Tiago, where you will find the Igreja de São Miguel do Castelo. Keep walking straight along Rua de São Miguel, and when you reach the intersection with Rua da Rainha, turn left. Follow this road until you reach Largo da Oliveira. From there, take a right onto Rua de Santa Maria and continue until you reach the end of the street. You will see the iconic Palace of the Dukes of Braganza on your left. Next, walk towards the main square, Praça de Santiago, and head towards the historic district. Stay on Rua de Nossa Senhora da Consolação until you reach the edge of town. Look for signs pointing to the bus station (Estação de Autocarros), where you can catch a bus to Vila Nova de Gaia.

After reaching the Guimarães bus station, purchase a ticket for Vila Nova de Gaia. The bus line you will want is typically labeled as 'Porto' or 'Vila Nova de Gaia.' The ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the bus station in Vila Nova de Gaia, exit the bus and head towards the main road. Cross the road and follow the signs towards the Douro River. You should see Largo Dom Luís I shortly after; the Burmester Winery is located right on the waterfront, just a short walk from the bus station.

From the Guimarães metro station, take the line towards Porto and transfer at the Porto Campanhã station to the line towards Santo Ovídio. Then, get off at the Jardim do Morro station.
