If you are starting from the Guimarães Castle, head south on Rua de Nossa Senhora da Consolação. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua de São Bento. Turn right onto Rua de São Bento and walk until you reach Praça de Santiago. From there, take Rua de São Francisco, which will lead you to the main square, Praça de Oliveira. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the square and see the Igreja de São Miguel do Castelo. From this point, follow the signs leading towards Porto. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the bus station where you can catch a bus to Porto. The Escadas do Caminho Novo are located in Porto, so ensure you check the bus schedule for the best time to travel.

To get to Escadas do Caminho Novo in Porto from Guimarães, start by walking to the main bus station, Terminal Rodoviário de Guimarães, located on Avenida de São Gonçalo. Once at the bus station, purchase a ticket to Porto, which is a frequent route. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Upon arrival in Porto, disembark at the bus terminal and look for signs directing you towards the city center. From the bus terminal, walk towards Rua de 31 de Janeiro and turn left. Continue walking until you reach Avenida dos Aliados. Follow this avenue until you see the signs for Escadas do Caminho Novo. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from the city center.
