Walking
If you are starting from the Guimarães city center, begin at Praça de S. Tiago. Head northwest towards Rua de S. João. Continue straight onto Rua de S. Gonçalo until you reach the end of the street. Turn left onto Rua de S. Francisco and walk until you reach the bus station. From there, take the bus to Porto, which usually takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Porto, you can walk to Igreja de São João Novo by heading southeast on Avenida dos Aliados, then turning left onto Rua do Almada. Continue straight until you reach Largo de São João Novo.

Begin at Guimarães Train Station. Take a train to Porto São Bento station, which takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Porto São Bento, exit the station and head southeast on Rua de Ferreira Borges. Continue straight until you reach Rua do Almada, then turn left. Walk straight until you arrive at Largo de São João Novo. This route will take you through the beautiful streets of Porto.
