The Monument Infante Dom Henrique: A Tribute to Exploration

Getting There

• Walking

  From the Braga city center, head towards Avenida da Liberdade. Walk straight until you reach the junction with Rua Dom João IV. Turn right onto Rua Dom João IV and continue walking until you reach the bus station. From there, take bus number 3 (check schedules) that goes to Porto. Once you arrive in Porto, head towards the city center and follow the signs to the Ribeira district. The Jardim do Infante Dom Henrique is located near the riverfront, just a short walk from the Ribeira.

• Bus

  Go to the main bus terminal in Braga, located at Avenida da Liberdade. Purchase a ticket for Porto. Board the bus heading to Porto (most likely the bus will be marked with 'Porto'). The journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the Porto bus terminal, exit and walk towards the metro station. Take the metro towards São Bento. Get off at São Bento station and exit towards the Rua das Flores. From there, walk down to the riverfront; the Jardim do Infante Dom Henrique will be ahead on your left.

• Train

  Make your way to the Braga train station located at Avenida da Liberdade. Purchase a ticket to Porto. Board the train heading towards Porto, which usually takes around 40 minutes. Once you arrive at São Bento train station in Porto, exit and walk towards the Ribeira district. Follow the signs to the riverfront and continue until you reach Jardim do Infante Dom Henrique, which will be situated by the river.
