Turn left onto Rua da Misericórdia and walk until you reach Largo do Chiado. At the square, take the first right onto Rua do Carmo. Continue walking until you reach the Carmo Convent. From here, follow the signs towards the Miradouro de Santa Catarina and continue to the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. Enjoy the view, then head down the hill through the paths that lead towards the castle.

    From Bairro Alto, walk to the nearby tram stop at Praça Luís de Camões. Take Tram 28 (the famous yellow tram) towards Martim Moniz. Ride the tram until you reach the stop 'Campo de Ourique - Prazeres.' From there, get off and walk up the hill towards the castle, following the signs that direct you to Castelo de S. Jorge.
