From Cascais, head to the Cascais train station, which is located in the center of town. Purchase a ticket to Lisboa, which should cost about €2.50. Board the train heading to Cais do Sodré station. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Cais do Sodré, exit the station and walk towards the waterfront along the Rua do Arsenal. Take a right onto Rua da Prata, then left onto Rua do Comércio, which will lead you to Praça do Comércio. From there, catch the metro at Baixa-Chiado station (Blue Line) towards Santa Apolónia. Change at Rossio to the Green Line towards Cais do Sodré, and get off at the next stop, Baixa-Chiado. Finally, walk towards Rossio Square, and take the Avenida da Liberdade to the heart of Lisbon. The Church of Saint James is located on R. de Santiago 1100, just a short walk away.

From the center of Cascais, walk to the main bus terminal near the Cascais train station. Look for the bus line 403 towards Lisbon. Get on the bus and enjoy the scenic ride along the coast. From there, you can walk along Rua da Prata and then take a left onto Rua do Comércio. Continue until you reach Rossio Square, where you will take Avenida da Liberdade.
