Walking
Start from the center of Ponte de Lima, at the Praça da República. From the square, head northwest along the Rua Dr. João F. de Almeida. Continue straight until you reach the bridge over the Lima River, known as Ponte de Lima. Cross the bridge and enjoy the scenic views of the river. Once you reach the other side, take the first left onto the Rua da Estrada Nacional 201. Walk for about 200 meters, and you will see the entrance to the Ecovia de Rio Lima - Percurso dos Açudes on your right. The signs will guide you into the park area where the trail begins.

Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Ponte de Lima, most of which are located near the Praça da República. After renting a bike, head northwest on Rua Dr. João F. de Almeida, and follow the same route as the walking directions. Biking is a great way to enjoy the surroundings as you cross the Ponte de Lima bridge. Once you cross the bridge, take a left onto Rua da Estrada Nacional 201, and continue cycling until you spot the entrance for the Ecovia de Rio Lima - Percurso dos Açudes on your right after about 200 meters.

Public Transport
Although there are limited public transport options directly to the Ecovia de Rio Lima - Percurso dos Açudes, you can take a local bus from Ponte de Lima to nearby villages. Check the local bus schedule at the Ponte de Lima bus station located near the Praça da República. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop to the Ecovia, it will still require a short walk back towards the river. Follow the signs directing you to the riverbank, and you will find the trail entrance.
