Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the iconic Livraria Lello, head south on Rua das Carmelitas towards Rua de 31 de Janeiro. Turn right onto Rua de 31 de Janeiro and continue until you reach the intersection with Avenida dos Aliados. Cross the avenue and continue straight on Rua de Santa Catarina. Keep walking until you reach Praça da Batalha, where you will see the large monument. From there, take the street that leads you down towards Rua de Dom Hugo. Continue straight for about 10 minutes, and you will arrive at Catedral located at Rua de Dom Hugo 4.

  • Metro

    If you're near the São Bento Metro Station, board the Metro Line D (Yellow Line) in the direction of Hospital de São João. Get off at the next stop, which is São Bento. Once you exit the station, head towards the main square and follow the signs for the Cathedral. Walk down Rua da Conceição, and then turn left onto Rua de Dom Hugo. Continue straight, and you will find the Catedral at Rua de Dom Hugo 4.

  • Bus

    From the Mercado do Bolhão, catch the bus number 200 or 207 at the nearby bus stop. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the stop named 'Catedral'. From this stop, you will see the Catedral directly in front of you at Rua de Dom Hugo 4. Just walk straight ahead to reach the entrance.

  • Tram

    If you are near the Ribeira area, you can take Tram 1 along the river. Ride the tram until you reach the Infante stop. From there, walk up Rua do Infante D. Henrique and continue straight until you reach Praça da Ribeira. From Praça da Ribeira, head up the hill towards Rua de Dom Hugo. After a 15-minute walk, you will see the Catedral located at Rua de Dom Hugo 4.
