Getting There

Metro
If you are starting from the city center, take the Metro from São Bento station (Line D - Yellow Line) towards Hospital São João. Get off at the Campo 24 de Agosto station. From there, exit the station and head southwest on Rua de Fernandes Tomás. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua da Alegria. Turn left onto Rua da Alegria, and then take a right onto Largo da Lapa. The Igreja da Lapa will be ahead on your left.

Bus
You can catch the bus from various points in the city. If you are near Aliados, take the bus 601 or 602 from the stop at Avenida dos Aliados. Get off at the Largo da Lapa stop. From the bus stop, you will see the Igreja da Lapa directly in front of you. Just walk towards it.

Walking
If you are within walking distance from the city center, you can enjoy a pleasant walk. Start at Avenida dos Aliados and head towards Rua de Passos Manuel. Continue straight until you reach Rua de Camões, then turn left. Follow this road until you reach the Largo da Lapa. The church will be located at Largo da Lapa 1, right at the square.

Tram
From the city center, you can take the historic tram line 22. Board the tram at any stop along the route and ride until you reach the stop at Carmo. From there, walk down Rua do Carmo and turn left onto Rua de Santa Catarina. Continue straight until you reach Rua da Alegria. Turn right, and then left onto Largo da Lapa. The Igreja da Lapa will be on your left.
