Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Sintra. Head southeast on Rua das Padarias towards Avenida Doutor Miguel Bombarda. Continue onto N247-1 and follow the signs for Colares. After about 10 minutes, turn onto N247, which leads you toward Praia das Maçãs. Keep following the road until you reach a fork; take the left road that leads to Praia do Inferno. There is limited parking available near the beach, so be prepared for a short walk from your parking spot.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Inferno Beach using public transportation, start at the Sintra train station. Take the train to Colares (approximately 20 minutes). Once you arrive at Colares station, you can either take a taxi or a local bus (Bus 439) towards Praia das Maçãs. Get off at the stop nearest to Praia do Inferno. Note that there may be a small fee for the bus (typically around €2). After disembarking, follow the signs leading to the beach, which is a short walk away.
