From Setúbal city center, walk to the Setúbal bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal). Take the bus number 145 towards Lisbon. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Cruz Quebrada' stop. From there, walk along Av. Marginal for about 10 minutes until you reach Forte de São Julião da Barra, which will be on your left.

Train and Bus
Start at Setúbal train station (Estação Ferroviária de Setúbal). Take a train towards Lisbon (Cascais line). Disembark at the Algés station. From Algés station, walk to the nearest bus stop and take bus number 28 or 148 towards Cruz Quebrada. Get off at the 'Cruz Quebrada' stop. Walk along Av. Marginal for about 10 minutes to reach Forte de São Julião da Barra.

If you prefer walking and are in the vicinity of the waterfront, start at the Setúbal marina. Follow the waterfront path heading north towards the mouth of the river. Continue walking along the riverbank for about 6 kilometers until you reach Cruz Quebrada. Once you arrive in Cruz Quebrada, head towards Av. Marginal and you will find Forte de São Julião da Barra along the coast.
