  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start by getting onto the A5 highway, which connects Lisbon to Cascais. Follow the A5 towards Cascais for approximately 20 kilometers. Take the exit toward Carcavelos (Exit 6) and merge onto the N249 road. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer. Follow the signs to Carcavelos beach, which will lead you to the beach parking areas. Be aware that parking may incur a fee, usually around €1 to €2 per hour, depending on the season.

  • Train

    For those using public transportation, head to the nearest train station, such as Lisbon’s Cais do Sodré station. From there, take the Cascais Line train towards Cascais. The journey takes about 25 minutes. You will want to get off at the Carcavelos station. Once you exit the station, walk straight for about 15 minutes (1.2 km) to reach Carcavelos beach. Follow the signs for the beach, and you will find yourself on the promenade near the beach entrance.

  • Bus

    Alternatively, you can take a bus. From Lisbon, catch the bus number 405 from Praça de Espanha towards Carcavelos. The journey will take about 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the Carcavelos stop, which is a short walk from the beach. Look for signs pointing towards the beach, and it should take no more than 10 minutes to walk there.
