From Sintra train station, take the train towards Cascais. The train departs frequently, so you should not have to wait long. Stay on the train for about 30 minutes, and disembark at the 'Cruz Quebrada' station. Once you exit the station, head west towards Av. Marginal. It’s about a 15-minute walk. Turn right onto Av. Marginal, and follow the road until you reach Forte de São Julião da Barra, which will be on your left.

From the Sintra bus station, take bus number 403 towards Algés. The bus ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Get off at the 'Cruz Quebrada' stop. After you disembark, walk down to Av. Marginal, turn left, and continue walking along the waterfront for about 10 minutes until you reach Forte de São Julião da Barra.

If you are already in the center of Sintra, you can start walking towards Cascais. Follow the main road (Avenida Dr. Alfred Alfred) towards the coast. It is roughly a 5 km walk, which will take about 1 hour. Once you reach the coastline, follow the Av. Marginal road. You will pass through several beautiful views and eventually arrive at Forte de São Julião da Barra.
